The Club CLT
The Club is a chain of private airport lounges. The Club CLT is located in A Concourse of the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. LGA acted as the Architect of Record, developing 30% design drawings provided by the Design Architect to provide 100% construction documents and perform construction administration.
My role as the Project Coordinator was to develop the drawing set, identifying and generating additional detailing throughout The Club required for successful execution. I took on the day-to-day management of the project under a Senior Project Manager, and worked closely with the client, design architects, consultants, airport authority, and eventually GC team to execute the project.
Drawings for this project were completed in Autodesk Revit.
5151 Butler
5151 Butler is a mixed-use renovation project in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood. The design takes its cues from the scale of the surrounding neighborhood's traditional architecture as a 3-story volume with a transparent ground floor. Contemporary design elements were incorporated through materiality and detailing. My role as designer included developing the building's parti, which divides the facade according to proportions of the fenestration of the surrounding architecture and uses them as hinge points to subtly fold and manipulate the facade for a novel contemporary design in a historic context. This project was awarded a 2023 AIA Certificate of Merit.
This project was modeled & rendered using Sketchup, Construction Drawings completed using Autodesk Autocad, and diagrammed using Adobe Creative Suite tools.
The Club CLE
The Club is a chain of private airport lounges. The Club CLE is located in Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. On this project, I worked to take SD drawings generated by the design architect through the documentation phase, as well as permitting.
As Project Coordinator, I worked through the detailing of all design elements while maintaining the integrity of design concepts. I took on the day to day project management and coordination efforts under a Senior Project Manager.
Drawings for this project were completed in Autodesk Revit.
Cyber Charter School
Strada was engaged to renovate an existing, multi-tenant office building in Mt. Pocono, PA, into an office for a Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School. This facility serves as office space for teachers teaching virtual classes, as well as training and testing facilities for teachers and students on occasion. While daily use is primarily by teachers and administrators, this facility sometimes opens their space to the surrounding community for events, or to hold meetings between teachers, students, and parents. As such, the outward appearance and public-facing design is very important to the institution, and this existing building needed a lot of love.
As project architect, I created the designs shown and presented to the client to show them how the building could become much brighter and act as landmark in the community. I further worked with the project team to create a much-needed connection between parking-facing entry and the main level, adding a new communicating stair. Additional exterior and landscape improvements were made to create an entry sequence and make space for staff to enjoy the landscape of the Poconos.
New Season of West Palm Beach
LGA Partners worked with client Colonial Management Group on many locations of New Season drug treatment clinics. These projects were pivotal in the development of LGA's Healthcare studio, and utilized the firm's experience with Retail clients to serve clients such as CMG in the "rollout" healthcare market, entities providing healthcare services in multiple jurisdictions. Using retail market expertise, I worked with my team to streamline projects in this sector, developing prototypes for standardized clinic appearance and expedited project delivery.
The location shown here, New Season of West Palm Beach, was the first CMG location to utilize a Revit template file I developed to increase efficiency over the use of Autocad. This was also our largest CMG location, at an existing clinic, which required careful construction phasing to ensure the clinic could be expanded without disruption to patients' treatment. It is also the first location to use an operable partition to allow for the clinic's very large queuing needs at certain times of day, but also provide needed additional conferencing space after treatment times each day.
The Milk Shake Factory
Pittsburgh-based restaurant chain The Milk Shake factory enlisted mossArchitects to design and implement a prototype for new stores as the ice cream chain prepared to quickly expand with new locations in Pittsburgh and neighboring regions. The design would take cues from the existing location at PNC tower, but needed to be specified with furniture, fixtures, and equipment that would support their goals for brand expansion. Working closely with the client, a detailed prototype book was developed and edited as it was tested against the first new store build in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood (shown here in photographs).
My role working with The Milk Shake Factory included construction administration work the East Liberty location, and all phases of the Oakland location, including development of the CD set. Additionally, I was a primary contributor in the development of a package of millwork drawings to accompany the store prototype, extensively detailing standard fixtures to be used at all subsequent store locations. My role further included keeping the store prototype manual up to date as the store design was refined
Starbucks
Interbrand Design Forum (now ChangeUp) serves as the Architect of Record for hundreds of Starbucks Coffee renovations and tenant fit-outs. As a major client of Interbrand Design Forum, working with Starbucks requires deep familiarity with brand standards and equipment, and applying that knowledge to varying jurisdictions to obtain permit approval. Shown here is a store location in Aurora, CO.
My role on Starbucks projects included developing construction documents using detailed BIM models, preparing permit documentation for approval in varying jurisdictions throughout the U.S., and serving as the point of contact for permit expediters during the submission and review process. Starbucks projects were completed using Autodesk Revit.
Trek Bicycles
Interbrand Design Forum (later acquired by ChangeUp) specializes in retail environments and works with major brands, including Trek Bicycles. For Trek, Interbrand Design Forum creates branded spaces for bike shops the Trek acquires, or creates new bike shops from unoccupied space, such as this project in Pottstown, PA.
